Pat's Position on Parking Meters

I’ve just recently been made aware of the parking meter situation in Sarasota, Florida.  Apparently, they do not seem to be working well, and the Sarasota Observer has editorially suggested that Sarasota “Dump the meters, swallow the loss and stop plans for…any more.”

After spending $600,000 on parking meters the Sarasota Commission voted to remove them.

THE SARASOTA ISSUE CONCERNS ME. I wasn’t aware that they were having problems. Until more clarification can be obtained on what’s going on in Sarasota, I propose that we do nothing with regard to our parking meter situation.

We need to have the full picture. Let’s not jump in with both feet before we know we’re making the right decision! Let me hear what you think at pat@patarcher.com

I love our city.  I have been a resident of Delray Beach for 22 years. Preserving our way of life in this beautiful place is very important to me. I believe we all want the same things: safe neighborhoods, lower taxes and economic stability.

We are standing at a crossroad. We need to decide if we want to be known as the transient housing capital of the state or a place where people can raise their families, be safe in their homes and be a destination where businesses can be successful.

In this economic climate, we must spend within our means while providing important services to our residents, implement creative programs and incentives to attract businesses and make Delray Beach the best place to raise a family.

I want to hear from you. I want to know what concerns you and what your ideas are for our city. I respectully ask for you to stand with me, support my campaign and cast your vote for me on March 13th, 2012.
